Oh by the way, folks, My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate the birthday of Jean-Pierre Blanchard, born in 1753. He was an early experimenter with manned balloon flight. And today, of course, is the Fourth Of July, the day with the highest accident rate of the year. It's been recommended that we shoot off our fireworks on the Third or the Fifth to minimize the risk. In fact, Chesapeake Beach is doing just that. They scheduled their community fireworks for last night but they got rained out, so they're rescheduling for tomorrow night. Here in Solomons we're doing them tonight. Meanwhile, nothing happened yesterday and the Wondrous Weather Website is predicting nice weather for our fireworks-related accidents to happen today. Happy Fireworks! OrneryPest |
