Oh by the way, folks, My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate the birthday of Neil Armstrong, born in 1930. He was the first person to walk on the moon. We also take this opportunity to make fun of "Moonwalk Truthers" who try to claim that the moon walk was all fake. And while we're at it, let's change the subject drastically and note that religious seminaries apparently teach courses to student preachers on how to squelch the very few congregation members who might be starting to realize that our Jesus legend is based entirely on earlier superhero myths, and not on the biography of any actual person. Well, at least a coupla textbooks for such courses have been published. I've never been a seminary student so I don't have firsthand knowledge of how such courses are actually taught. Yesterday the tron undergrounders spent the whole day installing something or t'nother along the back street. A buncha Planners And Estimators bearing surveying gadgets went planning and estimating up and down the front street, but no digging got done there. Today it looks like the tron undergrounders are gonna continue their work along the back street, which looks like something I've never seen before how they do it. They've got this horizontal drilling machine that they park about 15 feet behind a hole they've dug, and they drill slant-ways into the hole, then they re-articulate the drill to drill level, and they keep on drilling and adding new drill sections until the drill gets to another hole they've dug about half a block away. They call it Horizontal Boreholing. Well anyhow, it's kinda fun to watch. Happy Watching Horizontal Boreholing! OrneryPest |
