Oh by the way, folks, My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate the birthday of Jami, born in 1414. He was a Persian poet. Yesterday in church, Father S was declared the undisputed winner of the Iron Priest Triathlon (presiding at all three mystic rituals), preaching the sermon in a record-breaking world championship 2 minutes and 44 seconds. Not only that, but he had pre-instructed the prayer reader to skip the parenthesis-bound (that is, optional) phrases of the prayers, and tipped off the organist to play the hymns nicely up-tempo. Naturally this caused a few of the congregation members to become a bit emotionally disturbed because the church service didn't last quite long enough to render everybody completely brain-dead. But hey, at least he was able to make it to the second service in time! The rest of the day went exactly as canonically appointed. I did an errand to Giant Foods for a coupla items, mowed a bit of grass (that is, plants of various plant families growing wherever mowing is desired), chopped up a few twigs for the compost pile, watched a Criminal Mindless re-run, and did a buncha other stuff nobody cares about. And today it looks like nothing's gonna happen. Happy Monday! OrneryPest |
