Oh by the way, folks, My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate the birthday of Pablo Picasso, born in 1881. He was among the world's most popular artists. Not only that, but his birth year 1881 is one of those Upside Down years. Turn 1881 upside down and it's still 1881. Maybe that's why lots of Picasso's art looks just as good upside down as right side up. Yesterday's chiroquacker knee-jerk accomplished nothing, as usual. False Value Hardware carries the same old style of tool belt that's been my favorite since forever, so I bought two of them. The tron undergrounders were still undergrounding trons about 4 blocks north of my place. The new industrial site sprouting up (it's officially called the Dominion Gas Cove Point Off-site Area B) is continuing to sprout up. Our whole community is being blown apart by controversy as to whether Dominion Gas oughta be allowed to expand their Cove Point place, including adding two Off-site Areas. I'm in favor of industry, especially energy industry, but I realize it poses some major issues about environmental damage and public safety. Dominion Gas has been presented with 79 of these issues, and has responded to them with proposals as to how they're gonna deal with them. People who are supposedly expertiseful about the subject are satisfied with the proposals. So if somebody comes up with an issue that hasn't been addressed, or that they can show that Dominion's proposal is inadequate, I'll oppose their project. But until then I'll favor it. And so today it looks like nothing's gonna happen. Happy Saturday! OrneryPest |
