Oh by the way, folks, My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate the birthday of Alfred Wegener, born in 1880. He was the geologist who presented the conjecture that the continents aren't rigidly fixed, but go floating round and about the surface of the earth, breaking up and rejoining in various and sundry different patterns throughout geological time. His conjecture was roundly ridiculed at the time, and it required a rather large number of years to collect the evidence to prove he was right. Yesterday's chiroquacker knee-jerk, by itself, accomplished nothing, but they introduced me to 3 special exercises I could, with minimal paraphernalia, do at home. Two of these paraphernaliuses are stuff we've already got. The third, something called a Wobbly-Board, would cost about $65, which sounds awful high for a mere hunk of molded hard neoprene. And then the pile driver across the way played some more nice rock-'n-roll music, which I'm sure the younger folks in the community probably enjoyed more than I did. Today is gonna be a Washington Area Secular Humanist presento, at the Wheaton library this time, which is fairly easy to get to. So I suppose I'll probably go. Happy Saturday! OrneryPest |
