Today we celebrate the baptism day of Giacomo Carissimi, baptized in 1605. His birthday is unknown, and we're not sure of how soon after birth his social crowd demanded that their babies be baptized. He was a music composer.

And so today is Jesus-on-a-stick day. I'm gonna try to avoid the idiotic festivities as much as I can.

Yesterday the exterminator came, inspected, and decreed that it was too windy to spray, so they're coming back in another week or so.

The extermination business must be quite the trip. On the days the weather doesn't allow spraying, they've got this whole team of spraysmen and a buncha expensive spraying equipment doing nothing, and a whole team of receptionists frantically answering phones and rescheduling. No surprise they've gotta charge $155 for a ten-minute spray job.

Well anyhow, maybe I'll blow off today burying seeds in Gordon the Garden in the fond but futile hope that some of them might grow.

Happy Jesus-On-A-Stick Day!
