Today we celebrate the birthday of Guy Lombardo, born in 1902. He was best known as a band leader, and also had a few other talents.

Yesterday was too hot for anything to happen.

On my stroll up to the post office I walked past the place where the underground tron installers were working, and saw their Horizontal Borehole machine in action. It looks like this particular version can go about 35 or 40 feet horizontally underground before it's gotta come back up for air.

I'm sure it's nothing compared to the machine they must be using to put the super-high-voltage service under the Patuxent River (about a mile and a quarter).

Today looks so far like it's gonna be even hotter and it'll rain. Steam bath time!
