Oh by the way, folks, My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate the baptism day of Johann Pachelbel, baptized in 1653. He was a music composer. His social crowd celebrated baptism days instead of birthdays because they considered you to not exist until you were baptized. Yesterday church was the usual exercise in boring God to tears. And then nothing happened in the afternoon. Today is, of course, Labor Day, so the bobbies are on a blitz, sobriety checkpoints and all. All the stores that pay their labor minimum wage and no bennies are having sales. I have no intention of going out to buy anything. You see, Labor Day sales work like this. An item that usually sells for $39.95 is marked up to $49.95 so they can mark it back down to $39.95 to have a sale on it. Truly a superb deal you're getting, yes-no? Happy Labor Day Sales!
